Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity (EHS)

Some people experience real physical symptoms — headaches, fatigue, brain fog, skin tingling — that they attribute to EMF exposure. This is called EHS. The science on its mechanisms is still developing.

Why it matters

A person with EHS might experience headaches when working near a WiFi router that resolve when they move away or turn the router off. They may sleep better in rural areas away from cell towers. Whether this is a direct EMF effect or a nocebo response (the opposite of placebo) is still debated.
